Historic Growth Driven by the Defence Segment and Efficiency Investments

The North Jutland-based company HMK Bilcon A/S has delivered the strongest financial results in its approximately 130-year history. With a consistently high production level throughout 2024 – on par with the strong second half of 2023 – the company can present both record revenue and record earnings. Compared to last year, revenue has increased by approximately 45% (YoY), with earnings following suit in line with this significant growth.

Defence Segment Driving Growth

The primary growth driver is the increasing demand within the defence industry, where there is a heightened focus on high-quality products. Since batch sizes in this segment are typically larger, a positive production effect is achieved, contributing to stronger financial performance and better capacity utilization.

Investments in Efficiency and Capacity

Throughout the year, HMK Bilcon has made a series of strategic investments, including welding robots and specialized equipment for handling tanks, significantly increasing production capacity and efficiency. Additionally, building projects and capacity expansions have been carried out to support the high level of activity and accommodate the growing order backlog.

ISO 27001 Certification Strengthens Position

In December 2024, HMK Bilcon achieved ISO 27001 certification in information security – an important step as cybersecurity becomes a mandatory requirement in the defence sector moving forward.

More Employees and a Strengthened Danish Supply Chain

The high level of activity has also led to a continuous expansion of the workforce. At the same time, sourcing from local Danish subcontractors is increasing, creating additional value within the national supply chain.

International Growth on the Horizon

CEO Peter Jensby states:

International growth has truly begun, with orders from multiple European countries for our specialized defence industry products. We have a particularly strong position in fuel tanks, which play a crucial role in the logistics chain.”
